Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts Volunteer Opportunity

February 28, 2025 6:08 pm | Opportunity

WHEN:

Monday, March 10th 2025

WHERE:

LeRoy L. Wood Elementary School, Fairhaven, Massachusetts

Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Utilizing Junior Achievement’s proven curriculum and volunteer engagement process to teach a JA Program to a local elementary school classroom, please join us for a fun and impactful day at LeRoy L. Wood Elementary School in Fairhaven where we will be teaching all of their students in K – 5th grade, over 400 students, on March 10th!

Program materials, volunteer training, onboarding (including a CORI background check), and all volunteer project details are managed by Junior Achievement staff. This effort will be utilizing Junior Achievement’s “JA in a Day” model where every classroom at LeRoy L. Wood Elementary School will be receiving a JA Program throughout the day. Each grade receives their corresponding JA Program covering foundational financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and career readiness lessons taught in a fun, age-appropriate, and dynamic format.

Volunteers can teach a grade throughout the day by themselves or be paired with a partner to teach their respective classroom. The teacher remains in the classroom at all times throughout the day and JA staff is on hand to provide any needed support as well.

The total time commitment for March 10th is 8:30 AM – 2:45 PM and lunch will be provided in a break room that can be utilized by all volunteers during short breaks throughout the day when your classroom is at lunch, recess, or a non-JA class period. Once a volunteer is signed up, Junior Achievement staff will provide additional details and will guide the volunteer throughout the process.

Thank you for considering this volunteer opportunity to inspire and prepare our local youth through JA!
