Empowering the Next Generation to Lead in the Age of AI

Artificial Intelligence is reshaping how we learn, work, and live — and today’s youth are paying attention. A recent survey found that 57% of teens believe AI has negatively impacted their career outlook, reflecting deep concerns about job security, skill relevance, and the future of work.

But these numbers also tell a story of awareness and readiness. This generation isn’t just watching the world change — they’re preparing to shape it. They’re asking important questions about technology, ethics, and opportunity. They’re seeking the skills that will keep them adaptable, creative, and empowered in a rapidly evolving world.

At Junior Achievement of Southern Massachusetts, we believe that awareness is the foundation of empowerment. Across the SouthCoast and beyond, our programs connect students with mentors, local business leaders, and real-world experiences that bring learning to life. By fostering skills like critical thinking, financial literacy, collaboration, and entrepreneurship, we’re preparing young people for jobs that may not even exist yet — but for which their adaptability will be the key advantage.

And as conversations about AI and the future of work accelerate, we’re building something special here in our region — an upcoming youth-focused experience that will bring students, educators, and business leaders together to explore innovation, connection, and the world of tomorrow. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that the next generation across the SouthCoast faces the future not with fear, but with the tools and insight to drive it forward.

Because the future isn’t just coming — it’s being built right now, right here in Southern Massachusetts, by them.
